I have a dilemma. I will re-paint the car with the same color code as soon as possible. But I am thinking about removing the side rims, fill the pinholes, do the new paint and then install a laser stripes kit. I did a rendering with photoshop to give you guys an idea.

A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since my last post. Not sure where to start but life definitely got in the way. Fortunately, the Ford Gran Torino 1972 is still with me and is still my dream car. I’ll start updating the blog more often as it was such a pleasure to do so. Now the car is asleep for the winter as you can tell with this storage picture below. The other picture is with another of my prized possession, which is my giant Ford Excursion.
Impressive photoshop work !! And no dilemma. The laser stripe gives it a unique edge. I definitely like it more ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat news. Glad you like it. From now on, there is no choices anymore. The laser stripes it is!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my god you own the 72' :O Cobra Jet
ReplyDeleteCan you make a 2 minute based movie showing how engine works?
I live in Poland (and im only 16) so i can only see japan cars and german. I always wonder to have a muscle car in future but I think in poland its impossible (2.50$ for gasoline liter).
Thanks for the comment "volf13". My restoration is mostly based right now on the body work. Meaning that the mechanic is not done yet. It's all there, all in order, but the fact that the engine as been sleeping for more than 20 yrs will require some safety procedures first. Like changing all the filters, oils, lubricating the cylinders, etc. I will be at that stage next spring. I will let you know for sure when I'm there. About Poland, don't worry. I have some friends in the UK who own many muscle cars. You buy it in the states and for about 1500$, you get it shipped in your driveway. So dont worry about a thing. When the day come, I am sure you will own one.
ReplyDeleteDo the stripes man its only right.
ReplyDeleteAs a quick update, I decided to leave the car in its original shape and look. Therefore, the trims are there to stay.
ReplyDeletethe trim you have on the car in this photo is much rarer than the laser stripe ! almost every 72gts i see at the car shows have the laser strip on them. And besides i think it makes the car look way more clasy.
