This blog is about my Ford Gran Torino 1972 sport fastback. Witness this powerful muscle car getting back to life. It is powered by a Cleveland 351/4 Cobra Jet engine.

That gives me a reson to create my facebook. Are there any tips, how much are cars in medium condition (for example, like yours but with working engine and things like sidelamps etc. but can be a bit rotten) to buy from grandfathers?. I mean any model but not so popular among collectors. I see various models on car auctions, but the rust-eaten cars are just too expensive (6000Polish Zloty bout 2000$ for hard eaten, no windows etc and no paint on it Dodge Dart). I very like plymouth roadrunner and chevy Nova. Are thoose cars popular? Im pretty sorry for long comment, but I systhematically check your blog :D
Thanks Volf for the comment. Cars like mine will show up on local classified ads very rarely. But on popular sites which cover the entire nation as eBay, there is some from time to time at fair prices. As for GM or Mopar muscle cars, they are expensive because somewhat very popular. A bit like the Mustang would be for Ford. But Torino's will get there. Mark my words. Better buy fast while this car is still in the shadow.
I have a dilemma. I will re-paint the car with the same color code as soon as possible. But I am thinking about removing the side rims, fill the pinholes, do the new paint and then install a laser stripes kit. I did a rendering with photoshop to give you guys an idea.
Ok, I just came back from the storage where my car is kept. I took the 8 spark plugs out and they were all black and corroded!!! I am sure they have not been changed for many decades. Well, I took them off to spin the engine. Unfortunately, the engine is jam. I guess after 20 years sleeping, it's not something surprising. But I did filled the spark plug holes with WD-40 and I will try again in a couple of weeks to see if it spin. If not, my garagist will unjam it manually so I dont bust my starter. Here is a picture of the Cleveland when I bought the car and another picture after cleaning the surface dust. I will keep you posted about the engine's problem. Stay tuned d^_^b
